About Me

 

Born, raised and still live in Austin, Texas.

 

Currently, I care for my 86 year-old father (who lives with me) and has early stages of Dementia.

I am an AmeriCorps member proudly serving my country and specifically adult artists with disabilities.

I also assist my 24 year-old daughter get to her appointments. She has Cystic Fibrosis and recently

celebrated 10 years with a double-lung transplant July 13, 2026!

 

Education:

 

A.N.McCallum High School (1983)

The University of Texas at Austin- Bachelor of Fine Arts- Studio Art (1998)

 

 

My original drawings, paintings, and mixed-media pieces won numerous UIL competitions during High School,

leading to a scholarship to attend the University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts- Department of Art.

 

It was in college that I chose to take classes of various disciplines- Life Drawing, Design,

Sculpture (Wood, Clay and Metal), and also Painting- using Acrylics and Oils.

I continued drawing classes working in graphite, pastels and other mediums, but my main focus

was Serigraphic printmaking.

 

Experience:

 

1988- 2023

I worked in the Commercial Printing Industry and developed my computer skills using the

Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office. 

 

2023- current

AmeriCorps Artist-in Residence at Imagine Art (501c3 non-profit)

I teach Painting and drawing, serving adult artists

with intellectual and physical disabilities.

I am available for private lessons and I also take commissions.
